As a professional video production company working across Kent, London, the home counties and Northampton, we often get questions from people asking about our services and the type of video productions we create. To help answer some of these questions, we have put together a blog of the most popular ones we get asked.
1. What is a video production agency?
A video production agency creates films and videos for clients, which are often used for marketing and advertising. Video is a great marketing tool, so it is becoming increasingly popular for businesses to use video to stand out from their competitors.
2. What types of film production can you do?
We are extremely adaptive at Wildwood Media, and pride ourselves on being able to work across all genres of video production. Some examples of the video genres we cover are:
- Conference & Livestream Filming
- Videos For Social Media
- Promotional Video & PR
- Aerial & Drone Filming
- Outsourced Corporate Video
- Films For Schools
- Recruitment & Training Films
- Films For Charities
- Health & Safety
- Internal & External Communications
3. How much does video production in London cost?
The cost of having a professional video produced can range from as little as a few hundred pounds to thousands. The cost of the video will be hugely dependent on the type of video you want to create and your unique requirements.
At Wildwood Media, we do not have a set video production cost. Instead, we offer bespoke video services for our individual clients, taking into consideration their requirements and budget. We have a blog that goes into more detail about how the costs can be broken down – you can read it here.
4. How long does it take to make a video for your business?
There is no set time for video production, as it is dependent on many factors such as:
- The type of video you are producing
- How many locations you want to film at
- The size of the film crew needed
The more locations you want to film at and the larger the crew will mean more time will be spent editing the film to make sure we get all the best bits. As a rule of thumb, there are three main stages to the film production process – pre-production, filming and post-production – and most videos can be produced within a one-month timescale.
5. Do you do aerial photography?
Gone are the days of aerial shots only being available to big-budget productions that would use helicopters, as now drones are more accessible and used instead.
At Wildwood Media, we produce aerial filming and photography and can create content to suit your specific needs. We have a blog all about aerial filming and filming with drones – you can read it here.
6. How should I prepare for my video shoot?
There isn’t much you need to do to prepare for your video shoot, as we will prepare everything in the pre-production stage and handle all the planning for you. You don’t even need to worry about writing a script, as our scriptwriters can support you with that. If you have any ideas for filming or your script, we love to work with your creative input, but this is by no means essential as we are happy to take the reins and guide you on style and storyboarding.
7. What industries do you have experience working in?
At Wildwood Media, we specialise in creating videos that get results for our customers. We don’t just shoot one style of video. Our experienced team has produced videos for schools, charities, NHS healthcare, recruitment agencies, corporates and much more. Each of our video productions is created with the end-user or customer in mind, making every film we shoot unique.
8. Why is London great for video production?
Due to its iconic landmarks, picturesque streets and vibrant neighbourhoods, London is a popular location to film for many looking to highlight the bustle of the city in their film. There is an endless number of locations to film a variety of different styles, and everything is easily accessible by public transport, making it an ideal place for multi-location shoots.
9. What are the benefits of filming in London?
As well as its iconic landmarks, quaint streets and lively neighbourhoods, London has a lot more to offer. The huge variety of backdrops gives endless opportunities for creating content. There are parks, architectural wonders, historical buildings, riverside locations and much more. As it’s the capital city, London is also a great place for finding models or extras that you want to include in your video production.
10. What are the challenges of filming in London?
The challenges of filming in London depend on the type of video you want. For example, if you want a video in a metropolis without crowds of people, it can take a bit of planning to find a suitable place to film. London is a busy city at all times of the day and night, so things like sound have to be considered when filming in certain busy areas.
Choosing a location to film can also be quite a challenge as you really will be spoilt for choice. Check out the blog of our top 5 urban film locations in London if you are looking for some inspiration!
